on 2005-09-01I have had an eMap for about 4 years now. I purchased this product to replace the too small 8 MB card which could only hold a few maps, and use my eMap as a backup GPS. The 128 MB card can hold a decent amount of data. I estimate that it can store maps for all of Ohio, Michigan, WV and part of PA (while a 1 GB SD card can hold data for half of the US).
It would take 8 to 10 hours to flash this card using a serial connection while it takes the USB programmer less than 10 minutes. In other words, without the USB programmer you will just about kill a set of AA batteries loading 128 MB of maps on the card, so take this into consideration.
