on 2008-01-24This is my first SATA drive although my custom PC always had the capability and I must say I'm very impressed with the ease of installation (hardware and software). One important setback that I discovered however was that you need to make sure your BIOS and other drivers for your motherboard are up to date otherwise Windows XP will give you the blue screen of death and keep rebooting endlessly at bootup once you've connected the drive. That was an oversight on my part. Once I shutdown and disconnected the SATA cable, turned on my PC, updated my drivers and BIOS and then shutdown the PC, reconnected the cable and turned on my PC, Windows XP loaded up just fine and I was able to load in the installation CD.
