Compact and easy to use, the PT-1280 from Brother is an electronic labeling system that's great for home or office use. This unit features an easy-to-read 15-character display, and is able to print up to two lines and laminated labels up to 1/2-inch wide. Extremely versatile, the PT-1280 offers six auto formats, five framing options, and nine type styles. Three different type sizes automatically adjust the text size according to the tape width. It also works quickly, at print speeds of up to 10 millimeters per second. Additionally, you can use the PT-1280 to save and print your three favorite labels in seconds, with just a touch of the keys.The PT-1280 uses narrow, 3.5-millimeter, black-on-white nonlaminated tape for labeling CD spines. It comes with one 1/2-inch-by-16-foot black-on-white starter tape, a user's guide, and a 1-year limited warranty.

on 2007-01-20We bought this tool to label a large collection of spices in bottles, and I'm really very happy with it. It's very easy to use, and the labels it produces have clear text and stick well.
My only criticism is a bit of wasted tape at both the beginning and end of the label. I suppose you could cut it off if you don't like how it looks, but I always feel a little unfrugal wasting the tape.
