DESIGN OVERKILL FOR SUCH A LIGHT WEIGHT JOB?

on 2008-06-09Unless you drive a big ol' American 70' vintage pick-up truck, or...a great, hulking present day SUV, I'd steer clear of "all" of these RAM Mounts...! If you drive a Tacoma pickup, or...anything comparable, you're never going to find a place to mount a unit! As an objective Mechanical Engineer, I'd like to offer these observations!
Yes, they are ...Made in USA, and, as a RAM rep' told me..."we make `em heavy duty"! In fact, the same rep' told me..."Well, yeah! You can really only mount `em to the windshield"! Well, if sucking it down on the windshield doesn't happen to put your GPS in the right position for you to be able to read it, not to mention greatly obscure your view over the hood of your vehicle, then, like me...you're gonna be left with between 50 to 60 bucks worth of "heav...
