Product Information

Originally broadcast during the early days of Masterpiece Theatre, the BBC drama TO SERVE THEM ALL MY DAYS remains one of the most beloved mini-series of all time. John Duttine stars as David Powlett-Jones, a shellshocked veteran of the World War I trenches who returns to England and lands a job teaching at an elite public boarding school. At first lacking confidence and haunted by his wartime experiences, David eventually grows into one of the most respected and beloved teachers at the school. Based on the novel by R.F. Delderfield, this moving drama offers a rich blend of romance and history as it successfully evokes the tumultuous period of England between the wars.

Pros: Acting, script, characterizations, historical setting, locations..
Cons: Video transfer to DVD is not always sharp..
Bottom Line: A must-see for discerning viewers of quality, historically-based drama..
